UMPA Selects EnCompass for Generation Planning
Anchor Power Solutions’ EnCompass software optimizes generation scheduling and resource selection while considering transmission losses and costs.
Spanish Fork, UT
Utah Municipal Power Agency (UMPA) has implemented EnCompass Power Planning Software from Anchor Power Solutions to forecast future generation and transmission costs and evaluate potential supply options. By using EnCompass, UMPA will be able to determine which options provide for the lowest total overall cost to its members.
“We’ve been looking for a model like this for quite some time,” said Layne Burningham, General Manager of UMPA.
“The tools we were previously using simply weren’t able to evaluate all of the options that were being presented to us.”
“EnCompass is the perfect fit for an organization like UMPA that needs to balance the complexity of serving multiple utilities with the simplicity of a model that is easy to use and understand,” said Norm Richardson, President of Anchor Power Solutions. “In just a few days, Anchor Power was able to deliver a complete modeling database and the necessary training to being using the software right away to evaluate proposals.”
